"Kern Road Farm began as a family-operated red raspberry farm in Fowlerville, located in Southeastern Michigan. Family relatives have farmed on Kern Road since pre-Civil War days, growing grain and raising livestock. The red raspberries were planted in 1980 for U-pick and fresh wholesale to grocers. Kern Road Farm's condiment business was born in 1992, when a grocery chain in the Detroit area asked if we could make home-made raspberry jam for sale in their stores. Since, the farm's products have been sold at trade and craft shows and at farmers markets in Royal Oak, Lansing, Northville, Pontiac, and Ann Arbor."
