A great place to shop for Michigan-made holiday gifts is the store at the Michigan Historical Museum in Lansing. Right as you walk in, there's a huge display of books by Michigan authors about various local topics, including "Made in Detroit: A South of 8 Mile Memoir", by Paul Clemens; and "Legends Of Light: A Michigan Lighthouse Portfolio", by photographer Ed Wargin. If you're looking for Jonathan Rand books, there's an entire bookcase dedicated to the author.

In addition to all the Michigan rocks, minerals and gemstones available, you can find everything about our state's lighthouses - from figurines, to books and prints. Treat yourself to selected gourmet food products, including an array of fruit-based sauces from Freshwater Foods, Carp River, and more. They also carry unique journals and stationary by Journals Unlimited, a company from Bay City. Michigan History magazine is represented by a display of current and back issues, as well as related publications.

Plan a visit to the Michigan Historical Museum soon, and stop by the Museum Store to pick-up a piece of our state. It's open Monday - Friday, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Saturday, 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m; and Sunday, 1 to 5 p.m. You can find the Michigan Library and Historical Center at 702 West Kalamazoo Street, in downtown Lansing, two blocks east of M. L. King Jr. Boulevard.

I am looking for an oven mitt that is designed as a State of Michigan Map. Thanks Gordon - Rochester
